Native to northern Kentucky, Don started down the music path performing in public at the age of 14. At the age of 15, Don put together a successful band called Country Thunder that lasted until his early 20’s. In order to perform in the night clubs, Don taught his father how to play bass guitar and they performed on stage together along with Jody Prather and a year later with Steve Robbins. Later he performed with several bands and artists, including LoneStar, Keith Whitley, Ray Steven’s Band, Show Down, and Kentucky Heart. With the opportunity that presented itself to Lisa, Don was planning to take the stage again after a 15 year break to be part of her supporting band. He sought out to create a band that was a notch above the norm with excellent music and singing talents. When Lisa lost her voice, they decided to move forward and formed the band that we know as GENX.
